Silver Phial: Crystalline ebullient pop music with a vintage flavor
Hey, there, wanna lighten up? I defy you to hold on to that existential angst once the sound of Silver Phial wafts your way. Aeronautique (from their ep released last year) is my favorite example: I put this song on and it’s an instant mood lifter. It’s like some Victorian vintage fantasy flying machine powered by the sweet side of sixties psychedelia. Lead vocalist Cheryl sings sweet n clear while sitting behind the drum kit providing the propulsion for the band, flanked by Patrick and Scott on guitar and bass. A trio whose power is in the tasteful understatement of it’s unobtrusive arrangements: cool classic pop music for dancing or dreaming.
